Stephen Barbara

Stephen Barbara represents books for young readers, and select adult fiction and nonfiction. His list of clients includes a mix of bestselling, award-winning, and emerging writers, among them New York Times bestseller Lauren Oliver, Newbery Medal winner Laura Amy Schlitz, National Book Award nominee Lisa Graff, international bestseller Todd Strasser, Emmy and Edgar Award winner Jack Ferraiolo, illustrator of the #1 New York Times bestseller Go the F*** to Sleep Ricardo Cortès, national bestseller Lynne Jonell, and President of the Board of Directors of the Shirley Jackson Awards Paul Tremblay. Since 2010, Stephen has also represented the boutique literary development company Paper Lantern Lit, as well as the multimedia arts organization The Story Pirates.
Stephen grew up in New Haven, CT, graduated from the University of Chicago, where he studied English literature and criticism, and now lives with his wife and son in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
