Foreign Rights Department
Finding a home for your book in the American publishing market is just the beginning. As veterans in the foreign publishing world, we will treat your foreign publishing experience with the same commitment as your domestic sale: thoughtfully, aggressively, and bringing years of experience and goodwill to the process. Our goal is for you to feel as connected to your German, Korean or Brazilian publisher as you do to your American publisher, giving you a truly global publishing experience.
Our Director of Foreign Rights, Stéphanie Abou, is dedicated to representing all of our clients in foreign territories. Her relationship with both foreign publishers and literary agents abroad is based on more than 10 years of foreign rights experience. Hailing from France and fluent in four languages, Stéphanie thrives upon bringing our authors' works to new countries and cultures.
Agency co-founder Peter McGuigan has been actively engaged in foreign rights development for more than 13 years. His relationships with foreign publishers, agents and authors are rooted in great business and lasting friendships. With dozens of international bestsellers and authors, including Dan Brown and Nicholas Sparks, and thousands of foreign sales large and small to his credit, Peter brings solid experience from every facet of global publishing to Foundry.
Co-founder Yfat Reiss Gendell has seen her books published in countries from England and China to Spain and beyond. Peter, Yfat and Stéphanie are fixtures at the Frankfurt Book Fair, the London Book Fair and BookExpo America, and travel extensively to maintain their relationships with foreign publishers. Their aim is to market every project from a global perspective. Foundry currently partners with the following foreign literary agencies:
